Alexander Spendiaryan house museum was founded on November 21st, 1963 by decision № 491 of the president of Council of Ministers Anton Kochinyan, at Nalbandyan 23(now 21). The museum was opened in the apartment where composer lived last years of his life (1926-1928).
It was opened on November 25th, 1967. It is the first museum in Armenia dedicated to a musician. The founder was the composer’s daughter Marina Spendiarova and the founder director was composer Vladilen Balyan.
